Stencil Wall

And here is my nursery update. Stencil Wall- Painted Wallpaper Wall- whatever you want to call it is now complete! Whoot! You have no Idea how excited I was to put the brush down after this one. If it was all standing level height to paint, no biggie, but with this growing belly its hard to get down to the floor to paint (and be straight about it), and just as difficult to have my arms over my head trying to reach up to the ceiling.

So here's the how to on this crafty project. Tanya and I dug deep into my recycle bin and pulled out the biggest cereal box that we could find. She cut out this beautiful Moroccan stencil and BAM! Ha- nope not that easy but it was for me as I watched her measure and cut and measure some more. Btw Tanya your skills are greatly appreciated.

Take a look, the chalkboard wall came in handy once again.
We practiced our stencil here first.

Then we started on the wall. Finding the very center and working our way around it.
The level came in handy for the first few but then after that they just fell right into place.

Penciled on first, then paint x 2 coats over the pencil, and finally touch up.

Complete! I love-love the way this turned out.
This will be the wall that the crib is against.

I am pretty close to being able to say "I'm 8 months prego now!"

A Baby on the way. . .

A few months ago we were very happy to make this announcement!

Yay another bitty baby to snuggle. You can tell by the expressions on their faces how happy they are too.

Now the fun part begins. The NURSERY ;) Oh pinterest how you will come in handy this time around. And so we start-
Luckily our home has a fourth bedroom tucked away. In my home tour it was secretly hidden due to housing my . . .  okay it was a junk room. I had everything in here, all of my crafting supplies/ fabrics, our "good will" box that we fill as we go, and my hoarders stash of picture frames (yes I am admitting that I have a picture frame problem, the first step is admitting it, Right?!) Okay so junk room NO MORE. :)  Im so happy to be able to say that, and Im pretty sure that my husband is equally as happy. Im laughing as I type this because my now organized mess of craftiness and frames has since invaded our front room.

This room was once Caiden's nursery way back when we first moved into our home. Wow! Hard to believe that we have been in our house that long.
(Our house is a constant-neverending-fun project.)

So now that Im about to jump into week 31 I'll be working overtime on my list of things to get finished before this sweet thing decides to make her appearance- Yep HER! Another girl.

My Son says "Mom when my baby sister gets here I'm going to be 'Girl trapped' A big sister, a baby sister, EVEN our dog is a girl."

Im giving you all a bit of a sneak peek on whats to come in a very near blog post. One thing I can say is I'm very thankful for Tanya and her willingness to dive into fun projects like this one, after all every right handed person needs a left handed friend.

Check back for more progress :)

3 Step Glitter Art

We aren't trying to claim we invented air...but we did simplify it.
Ok...not air, but glitter art!

One peruse around Pinterest and I'm sure you've seen the DIY glitter home state art. Love it, but not the multi-step process or the shaking of the glitter. Hello...

So we happen to stumble across self-adhesive glitter paper while wandering aimlessly around JoAnn fabrics. And the lazy girls 3 step glitter art was born! I won't bore you with details of simple steps (trace cut place!) but we'll leave you with a quick photo tutorial and let you brainiacs put the pieces together.

One great thing about this project though is that it can be placed on anything (Anything!? Yes, anything!) Tanya used wrapping paper, Liz used scrapbook paper. If anyone happens to place it somewhere better, like a toilet or ham and cheese sandwich, please send us a pic!
